Here's to Good Friends and Times
Heather called this "March Madness" and I agree we have had something to do every Saturday and Sunday of this month and then some, but it sure was fun!! This busy month was really filled with great times with friends and family. We went to the Big Apple Circus with the Catalano Crew (Shaye's 1st circus--which she loved, but was a little scared of the clowns) to several easter celebrations, birthdays and get togethers with friends. And I realized how lucky I am to have such special people in my lives. I saw 2 of my closest friends from high school this month: Cristina, who I see almost monthly and crave every girls night out and Suzi, who I haven't seen in almost 3 years. And I am amazed at how old ties bind. Our lives have taken us down so many different paths but when we meet again it is just as it was. I love you guys! Congratulations to my friend Adele who I was honored to visit in the hospital upon the birth of her son Antonio. And my friends Maureen & Danielle whose family and friends are becoming my friends as well; they are beautiful souls and I enjoy all our times together. And when I really stop to be thankful it is for my family (who are really my best friends). So here's to all those in my life: please know you are loved and appreciated!

Growing up quick.
The other day Shaye hooked a small portion of her pretzel around her lip and said look mommy I'm like Ms. Ryan (her teacher with a lip ring). Then later that evening she took her black marker and "painted" her nails black. You can't make this stuff up. Reid is already starting to dig the room in the basement to lock her in when she turns 14!

My little yogi
We tried our first mommy and me "yogurt" class today. Shaye always asks to come with me to my yoga or "yogurt" classes. So we found a free Monday class at our library by my same instructor. We had a great time and little miss Shaye was a natural at downdog, tree, cobra, lotus and reverse boat poses. We did lunch at Panera after and it was a perfect mommy and Shaye morning. Not to mention she slept for over a 3 hour nap after.
That Easter Guy Came!
“That Easter Guy came!” This was her line of the day and repeated over and over. You gotta laugh. I am often deemed “that girl” so the easter bunny shouldn’t feel slighted—I think.
Hope everyone had a happy easter. We had a great day. Shaye enjoyed all the fun toys in her baskets and more jelly beans than mommy likes to allow. The easter bunny brought stamp sets, paints, Dora pantie sets, and lots of other fun stuff. Shaye had to wear both sets of her panties at the same time. (this is actually a common dressing tactic and we have topped out at 7 pairs of panties at one time).
We had both sets of grandparents over. I think they all had fun and Shaye loved the attention. Mommy realized the best recipe for a relaxing meal with a toddler is adding 4 loving grandparents. I still wore myself out and fell asleep in the rocking chair with Shaye at bedtime. I felt lost when I got up and now am up in the middle of the night writing this because I can’t sleep. But I guess since having a child falling asleep at 8 and being up all night has sadly become common for me.
Reid was featured in Steve Adubato’s business column in the Sunday paper today. It was concerning interview questions and he made interesting points. Honestly, I would never want to face Reid on an interview—he’s tough but thought provoking. Check it out if you wish: Click here.

My First Blog
Okay so Heather started it and it seemed fun and interesting so I thought I'd give this blog thing a try as well. (Besides Heather can link to my blog then too--)Time for me to join this decade. The internet is for more than email and shopping right?
I am not sure how exciting our lives really are, but Shaye is fun to look at (and I hope to figure out how to post pictures as well). Some updates on life in the Buns&Donuts household: Shaye is 28 months old today! She talks up a storm and is usually as sweet as can be (barring toddler moments). She was potty trained in January and the adventure into toddlerhood has certainly begun. She loves artsy stuff, books, puzzles, babies and dollhouse stuff. I can't get her to do anything that remotely resembles a sport, besides shopping. As for myself, I am still working part-time at the CP center in Belleville. I do really like it there and love the kids. Reid continues to work hard with Carbon and dote on Shaye any free time he has. And so we begin....
